Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today released ‘Honslo Ke Shikhar,’ a biography of Mamta Sodha, the country’s first civilian woman to climb Everest.

Authored by senior journalist Omkar Chaudhary, the book provides glimpse into the life and journey of Mamta who, coming from a very humble background, not only went on to scale Mount Everest at the age of 29 but also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa) and Mount Elbrus (Europe) later.

Conferred with Padma Shri in 2014, Mamta (46) is a DSP in the Haryana Police.
