The Nav Bharat Ekta Dal, a political outfit, today criticised the Northern Railway authorities for suspendiang six out of the 14 up/down train services on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar railway section.

PC Vishavkarma, national president of the dal in a statement here today alleged that the Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozepur, had suspended these trains merely on the perception of damage to the railway track during the rainy season.

He said the people of Kangra district had struggled a lot in getting all trains restored a few months ago and just under the pretext of the rainy season six up/down trains were suddenly suspended by the railway authorities which had been causing a lot of inconvenience to commuters and those living in lower Kangra district.

Terming the suspension of these trains as irrelevant and illogical, Vishavkarma said the railways should deploy labour force to oversee the track so that the track could be cleared if any boulder or debris fell on it. He said the dal would submit a memorandum to the union railway minister for restoring the suspended trains in the rainy season.
