Eight injured in Kashmir grenade blast

ANANTNAG: Eight people, including four CRPF personnel, were injured in a grenade attack carried out by suspected militants in this south Kashmir town on Wednesday.

Eight people, including four CRPF personnel, were injured in a grenade attack carried out by suspected militants in this south Kashmir town on Wednesday.

The attack took place at about 12 pm.

According to reports, the hand grenade was aimed at a CRPF vehicle parked near Government Women's College along the Khannabal-Pahalgam road in Anantnag town.

"Eight people — four civilians and the rest from CRPF — were injured," a senior police official said.

The injured have been rushed to Anantnag district hospital and are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police and CRPF have cordoned off the area and are conducting searches.
The road is the main route to go to Nunwan, the Base camp for ongoing Amaranth Yatra.
