Education student centric now: Expert

A paradigm shift is taking place all over the world and the teacher-centric learning is changing into learner-centric learning.

Dr Eric Davis, vice-president of Academic University of Fraser Valley, Canada, stated this as the resource person at the one-day faculty development workshop on the ‘Revolutionary Potential of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning’, organised at St Bede’s College here today.

He said a massive change is taking place in universities and colleges. Accountability and quality assurance are the benchmarks of the learning paradigm. Self-directed, self-paced and work integrated learning is essential for the survival of higher learning, Dr Davis added. —TNS
