Mandi Ahmedgarh, January 16

Office-bearers and activists of social and constitutional bodies vowed to support Iqbal Singh Jhoondan, SAD-BJP candidate.

They took the oath in response to an appeal made by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal during a rally held at grain market here today.

Appreciating the initiatives taken by Iqbal Singh Jhoondan during his tenure as a representative in the Punjab Assembly, Badal said the benefits of the development works had been equal for everyone. He said, “When you have yourself observed the difference between the working of Jhoonda and his predecessors, it becomes your moral duty to reciprocate and support him during the coming elections.”

Upgrading the town to subdivision level, shifting the office of the CDPO to local town, new spacious grain market, recreational park and strengthening of sewerage system were cited as achievements of Jhoondan.

Badal cautioned that the residents should not fall prey to any misleading promises made by the AAP and Congress leaders. He said the Congress and AAP only had an agenda to criticise the SAD.
