Drug addiction among youth matter of concern: Bali

Transport, Food and Civil Supplies and Technical Education Minister GS Bali laid thrust on the development of infrastructure and making available modern facilities to students in educational institutions for providing better and quality education in the state as it was priority of the state government. 

He was speaking during the Annual Swar Lahri function organised by students of the Central Association of Pandit Anant Ram Govt Degree College at Baroh here today.

He said each Assembly segment would have two senior secondary schools with better infrastructure and ultra-modern facilities under the Chief Minister’s ideal school programme, under which Rs 30 crore would be spent. He said quality education was being imparted to students at their doorstep. 

Bali asked the students to participate in sports and cultural activities and their academic education. He asked them to prepare themselves to face any challenges. 

He said drug addiction among youths was a matter of concern and laid thrust on creating awareness among youths against the drug menace. 

He directed the authorities concerned for completing the formalities for the construction of the academic block of the Baroh college on a war footing. He announced Rs 10 lakh each for the construction of the college stage and college furniture and announced Rs 10,000 for the participants of the cultural programme. 

Principal Suman Sharma welcomed the minister. Kangra Sub Divisional Magistrate Debasweta Banik also attended the function.
