As part of the ongoing ‘Digital India Week’, the Department of Posts (DoP), J&K Circle, is organising several programmes across the to showcase its “prowess” as the leading mail carrier.

“The Department of Posts, J&K Circle, is celebrating the digital week in Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, Ladakh, Baramulla and Rajouri postal divisions,” said a DoP official.

“During the celebrations in Srinagar the prowess of the Postal Department will be depicted in terms of leading mail carrier across the state,” the official said.

The ‘Digital India Week’ was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday in New Delhi.

The official said during the coming days, the department would organise Postal Life Insurance (PLI) melas (fairs) and arrange visits of schoolchildren to post offices.

The department would also work towards linking the existing saving bank accounts, savings certificates and PLI policies with Aadhar and mobile numbers of the customers. He further said the DoP would make people aware about digital lockers, besides holding meeting with potential customers to educate them regarding futuristic preparedness of e-commerce. — TNS
