Doon girl bags six medals in shooting

DEHRADUN: Prema Gupta, a student of Doon Institute of Shooting, made the state proud by winning six medals in the National Shooting Championship at Pune.

Prema Gupta, a student of Doon Institute of Shooting, made the state proud by winning six medals in the National Shooting Championship at Pune. She won three gold, two silver and one bronze in the event.

Prema won the gold in the individual senior women civilian category and won other two in the group events of the senior women civilian category and the junior women open category. She won the silver medals in the individual junior women open category and the junior women civilian category. In the senior women open air-pistol category, Prema scored 378 points out of 400 and won the bronze.

In the champion of champions event, Prema grabbed the first runners-up position. She was trained by coach Mayank Marwah. — TNS
