Doiwala to be model segment

DEHRADUN: To make the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s Doiwala a model segment, Garhwal Commissioner Vinod Sharma instructed officials to start a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat mission in the constituency.

To make the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s Doiwala a model segment, Garhwal Commissioner Vinod Sharma instructed officials to start a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat mission in the constituency. He told them to expedite the pending development works.

He was chairing a meeting with officials from different government departments here today.

Sharma directed Nagar Palika and municipal corporations of other cities to clean drains. He said choked drains should be cleared on priority. He said dustbins should be placed across the cities. Sharma said sanitation workers should collect and dispose of garbage on regular intervals. He told officials to release funds to repair public toilets.

Sharma instructed officials to install high mask lights at the Bhaniyawala crossing. He told them to register street hawkers in Doiwala. He instructed PWD officials to repair roads in Shergarh, Bhaniyawala, Dhoodhli, etc. He told them to repaint signboards at Doiwala and other places of the city. He told state power department officials to ensure round-the-clock power supply to Doiwala. He instructed them to shift electricity poles from the middle of roads to corner as it led to fatal road accidents even in daytime. Sharma told them to repaint electricity poles.

District Magistrate Ravinath Raman, BJP general secretary Sandeep Saini, SSP Sweety Agarwal, SP (Rural) Shweta Chaubey etc. were present.
