Doda woman found dead

A married woman was found dead in a nullah under mysterious circumstance in the remote Marmat area of Doda district on Tuesday evening. The woman has been identified as 26-year-old Pinky Devi, wife of Sanjay Kumar of Roat village in Marmat tehsil. Her body was found in Kheeri nullah on Tuesday evening by locals who informed the police about it.

Firdous Ahmed, in-charge, Goha police post, said, “We are in early stage of investigation in the case. We are not in position to disclose anything.”

He added, “we are collecting information from locals and family members. However, the body has been shifted to Public Health Centre, Goha, for post-mortem examination. Later, it will be handed over to the family for last rites.”
