To create awareness about the increasing trend of rectal cancers in Kashmir, the surgery department of Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, today held an education programme attended by doctors from different health institutes of Kashmir.

“Rectal cancers have taken an alarming proportion in Kashmir, particularly among young people,” Dr Iqbal Saleem, noted surgeon, told The Tribune. The doctors deliberated on the issue of providing best possible treatment modalities for patients suffering from rectal cancer. — TNS
