Chief Minister Harish Rawat today felicitated Soddan Kuriyal, who saved lives of 42 stranded pilgrims during the Kedarnath tragedy in 2013. He said various plans were in the pipeline for reviving tourism sector in the state. Rawat said the damaged infrastructure would be repaired soon. Parliamentary secretary VS Negi, media advisor to CM Surendra Kumar, Rajeev Jain, CS Jeena Durgesh Kuriyal and others were present.

 

Staff to ensure speedy redress of grievances

 

Chief Secretary N Ravi Shankar on Wednesday instructed the Secretariat staff to meet people in order to ensure speedy redress of their grievances. He instructed the staff to issue gate passes to people, so that they don’t have to run from pillar to post for their grievances to be addressed.

 

 

Differently-abled protest

 

Agitating differently-abled persons under the Nanda Devi Nirdhan Viklang Kalyan Association on Wednesday protested at the Parade Ground. They demanded hike in pension, bus passes and government jobs. The agitators lamented that a memorandum was given many times to the officials, but the department was not acceding to their demands.

 

 

 

 

ASHA workers protest

 

Agitating ASHA health workers sent a memorandum to Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Wednesday. They demanded his intervention to address their grievances. The agitators demanded hike in their salaries and other perks, sanctioning allowance, filling vacant posts etc.
