Devotees throng Vashisht temples

MANALI: Vashisht village near Manali is not only known for its hot water springs and the temples of Vashisht Rishi, Lord Shiva and Lord Rama , but also for the sanctity of the shrine where gods and goddesses of Kullu valley visit to take a holy dip.

Vashisht village near Manali is not only known for its hot water springs and the temples of Vashisht Rishi, Lord Shiva and Lord Rama , but also for the sanctity of the shrine where gods and goddesses of Kullu valley visit to take a holy dip.

Today, deities of Vasuki Nag, Balogi Nag and Kartik Swami in colourful decorated palanquins, accompanied by hundreds of devotees with a folk band, visited Vashisht hot water spring to take a holy dip.

The Vashisht Rishi, Lord Rama and Lord Shiva temples and hot water springs are witnessing a great hustle and bustle with local people and tourists from all over the country visiting the village in a large number each day.

The tradition is that gods and goddesses of the Kullu valley come to Vashisht village for a holy dip on certain auspicious days of the year. It seems that a festival is going on at Vashisht village nowadays as hundreds of devotees bring the deities in colourful decorated palanquins accompanied by folk band.

The Vashisht Rishi, Lord Rama and Lord Shiva temples and hot water springs are witnessing a great hustle and bustle with local people and tourists from all over the country visiting the village in a large number each day.
