A cyclist was killed and a motorcyclist was injured when a trolley coming from the wrong side hit their vehicles near the flyover at Jugiana village, three kilometers from here.

The cyclist died on the spot while the motorcyclist has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

The deceased identified as Vijay Kumar (45 years), a resident of Gobindgarh village, was returning from his work when the incident occurred. The motorcyclist, Sushil Kumar, resident of Kanganwal and a worker in a factory, was hit by the same trolley but escaped with minor injuries.

A case has been registered against the trolley driver who succeeded in escaping from the accident spot.
