“Photo khichna yaad hi nai reha, friends da video banande reh gaye,” Diljit innocently admits why he doesn’t have a single picture from the big day.

With this popular Punjabi singer-actor creating history in his own right by being the first Pollywood actor to win Best Debut (Male) Award for his role in Udta Punjab at a prestigious award function, he can only think of that Waheguru whom he says has been there watching his back. Dressed in pink turban, and an immaculate suit to go with Diljit is being tweeted as one of the most handsome and well-dressed celebrities of the event. He laughs, “sachi! Waheguru,” he gives this modest reply.

Whether the singer-actor was sure about walking away with the award, he cannot help but share though he did want it, yet it was in hands of the jury and the audience finally. “My job is to give my best as an actor, my director of Udta Punjab, Abhishek Chaubey and the entire team helped me give my best performance,” adds the actor whose latest Punjabi track Lamborgini has crossed over a million hits on YouTube.
