A panchayat of 12 villages organised by Dalal Khap in Mandhothi village today demanded the state government to fulfill its promise of Rs 10 lakh compensation and government job to kin of those killed during Jat agitation.

“Resentment prevails among the community as the state government has not yet extended financial held and government job to kin of those killed during the stir,” said Bhup Singh Dalal, chief of Dalal Khap.

Dalal said they would meet Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and urge him include Backward Classes quota for Jats under Schedule 9 of the Constitution so that no one could challenge it in the court.

The panchayat also demanded release of youths arrested in connection with arson and violence during the quota agitation.

He said a mammoth rally would be organised in Jhajjar district to felicitate the Chief Minister if he fulfills the three demands.
