The Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) of the Army today celebrated its 14th Raising Day at Reasi.

In a solemn ceremony, General Officer Commanding Major General Rohit Gupta paid homage to martyrs by laying a wreath at the War Memorial.

In his “special order of the day,” the GOC complimented the troops for their outstanding performance and steadfast commitment in conduct of people-friendly operations which has contributed towards peace, harmony and maintaining a conducive environment for peace and development.

He exhorted the troops to rededicate themselves to the pursuit of excellence to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the nation with steadfast determination.

The force has achieved commendable success in counter-insurgency operations since its raising and has been instrumental in ushering in an atmosphere of peace and tranquilly in the region, thereby enabling the civil administration to reach out to the people in remote areas and to focus on development.
