Ludhiana, June 7

Three days after the arrest of Baldev Singh, suspected to be behind 105 killings, the Ludhiana police will be visiting Mumbai to nab his partner in crime Baljinder Singh.

Baljinder Singh, along with his aides, was arrested by Goregaon police in Mumbai in 2001 for killing a factory owner.

In police custody, Baldev shifted the blame on Baljinder. He confessed before the police that he was involved in eight murder cases while Baljinder had committed numerous killings. Inspector Kawaljit Singh, SHO, Division No 6 police station, said that a team would be sent to Mumbai soon to ascertain the whereabouts of Baljinder.

“We have spoken to the Mumbai police and told them about the arrest of Baldev Singh. But that was all informal conversation. Formally, we have sent an official communique. Soon, a team will reach Mumbai to look for Baljinder.

“Currently, we do not know whether Baljinder is in jail or has been released after completing his jail sentence. The truth behind many murders will be known after his arrest,” said SHO Kanwaljit Singh.

Deputy Commissioner Police (DCP) Naveen Singla said that a request would be made to the court to conduct the narco-analysis of the accused to extract more information. “The narco and brain mapping test is required with so many murders coming to light,” said DCP Singla. Meanwhile, a separate team visited Fatehgarh Sahib to nab Langra, another member of the gang. Langra is suspected to working as a ‘sewadar’ in a dera. It is learnt that despite a day-long search, the police failed to find him.

In police lockup, Baldev Singh said that he met Baljinder and Langra in Agra in 2000 and entered the world of crime.
