Samples of material used in construction of pond system, roads and streets exceeding Rs 10 lakh will be sent to Central or state laboratories.

This was stated by Raj Kumar Saini, local MP, while presiding over a review meeting of the district vigilance and monitoring committee at the Mini-Secretariat here today.

He said he would go to various villages along with members of the committee so that a watch could be kept over the quality of construction.

He said there should be quality in construction of roads and other projects to ensure that benefits of projects percolated to the people.

He asked officials of the public health engineering and fisheries departments to explore the possibility of making waste water worthy of use for agriculture.

The ponds constructed in villages could be be used for fisheries so that the income of village panchayats could be augmented, he added.

He said special attention should be paid to making arrangements for draining out waste water in villages and spreading awareness among panchayat representatives in this regard.

He directed officials to expedite the execution of development works in Sanghan village, adopted by him under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

He issued directions to ensure imparting of computer education to students in the village and providing solar streetlights.

He granted Rs 5.05 lakh from the MPLAD fund for installation of a 5-KV solar power plant. He directed Dr Manish Bansal, CMO, to provide adequate health facilities to Sanghan and Padla residents.

ADC Shakti Singh assured the local MP of taking appropriate steps to implement various projects and welfare schemes.

SDM Mandeep Kaur, City Magistrate Virender Sangwan, DSP Taru Kumar, CM’s good governance associate Prateek Harish, DPRO Randhir Singh Sharma and former MLA Leela Ram were present.
