Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has claimed that the state would soon face Assembly elections as the Congress had failed to deliver good governance on all fronts.

He was addressing a press conference here today. He claimed that though the elections were due at the end of 2017, the way the Chief Minister was seen in a hurry in doing everything, the state could face elections before time.

He said at the BJP’s national executive meeting in Kullu it had been decided that the party workers should always be kept on election mode. He said the BJP had decided to organise six functions every year, including April 6 as the establishment day of the BJP, Ambedkar Jayanti as Samrasta Divas, April 24 as Panchayati Raj Day, June 23 as Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Martyr Day, July 26 as Vijay Diwas in the memory of Kargil martyrs and October 2 as Clean India Day.

Earlier, addressing a meeting organised to mark Martyr Day of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, he said Mukherjee was a great thinker and nationalist who sacrificed his life for the integration of the country. He said Mukherjee’s death was still a mystery as the reason of his death was still not clear.
