Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the previous Congress government in the state had only promoted corruption and the BJP government was busy in putting the ‘derailed’ infrastructure back on track to ensure a well balanced and comprehensive growth.

Addressing a public meeting at the grain market in Ballabgarh town of the district, the Chief Minister promised that all demands raised by residents for improvement of the basic amenities would be met by the government in a shortest possible time. The public meeting was organised by Mool Chand Sharma, BJP MLA from Ballabgarh Assembly segment.

Taking a dig at the performance of the Congress government in the state between 2005 and 2014, Khattar alleged that it was the poor work and the failure of the previous government on various fronts that forced the people to resort to its ouster in the last Assembly elections.

“Corruption and misgovernance was all what the Congress government gave to the state in its 10 years of rule,’’ remarked the CM, who claimed that the BJP government had adopted several policies and programmes to resurrect the system and provide the much needed relief to the residents.

He said the state government would start work immediately on a majority of the demands raised by the local MLA in case there was no administrative hurdle. The authorities had been clearly told of the zero tolerance policy of the government towards corruption and misgovernance, he said. While the corruption had been curtailed to a considerable level, he said the government was working on measures to improve the basic infrastructure and facilities at various levels.

Claiming that his recent foreign tour had been highly successful in getting an investment to the tune of over Rs 1 lakh crore, he said it would generate employment for around 4 lakh persons in near future.
