The Aam Aadmi Party and Lok Insaaf Party workers entered into a scuffle with Congress workers, when the Congress workers objected to AAP and LIP workers’ act of distributing pamphlets (manifesto) to people near Baba Than Singh Chowk, Division Number 3 area, here today.

The workers of AAP and LIP were distributing pamphlets which conveyed about their promises (in case they win). The Congress workers in the area came to know about it and objected to the act. The volunteers from both sides entered into heated arguments, following which the police was called. During this period, the Returning Officer concerned was also called.

ACP Central, Amandeep Brar said the workers of AAP and LIP have been called tomorrow to explain the reason why they were distributing advertisement material. The police said the authorities would reach to any conclusion only after getting the statement tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Ludhiana Zone Observer of AAP Darshan Singh said the party had got permission from the Election Commission for distributing pamphlets (manifesto/ promises to be delivered).

“No one has the right to object. There is nothing wrong in telling people what the party intends to do,” said Darshan Singh.
