Conference on artificial limbs concludes

DEHRADUN: The Prosthetics and Orthotics Association of India (OPAI) in collaboration with Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) organised OPAI MIDCON 2017 conference from March 24 to 26 at Vigya Dham at Jhajra on the theme “Cutting Edge Technology with Robotics in Prosthetics and Orthotics for Divyang”.

The Prosthetics and Orthotics Association of India (OPAI) in collaboration with Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) organised OPAI MIDCON 2017 conference from March 24 to 26 at Vigya Dham at Jhajra on the theme “Cutting Edge Technology with Robotics in Prosthetics and Orthotics for Divyang”.

An exhibition was also organised during the programme in which numerous national and international companies showcased their products of prosthetics and orthotics importance for ‘Divyangjan’ applying robotic science. The general public also visited the exhibition and appreciated it.

A total of 14 different technical sessions were held during the conference, in which more than 650 participants, dignitaries and guests participated. At the valedictory function chief guest Dr BP Purohit, Joint Director, UCOST; guests of honour, Dr DP Uniyal, in-charge, RSC Dehradun and Dr Ashutosh Mishra, scientific officer, UCOST grace the occasion along with office bearers of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Association of India.

Earlier, the conference was inaugurated by Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, in which guest of honour Sahdev Singh Pundhir, MLA Sahaspur and Ganesh Joshi, MLA Mussoorie graced the occasion. In his speech, the CM expressed his willingness to extend absolute support to S&T in the state. Sahdev Pundhir expressed that vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for well being of ‘Divyangjan’ can achieve through judicious application of S&T.
