CMC to raise funds for poor patients

The Music and Theatre Workshop of Christian Medical College Ludhiana, under the patronage of Dr Abraham G Thomas, will organise its 22nd Production “Aladdin: The Musical” at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan for three days starting from March 23 to 25.

Every year, students of various colleges from Christian Medical College society come together to nurture the age-old tradition that CMC is passing on.

The main aim of doing this musical is to raise funds to aid patients belonging to the weaker sections of the society and those who need financial assistance for medical treatment.

This year, students will raise funds for patients who need to undergo corneal transplantations and to make people aware about eye donation, realising the fact that we can bring light to the life of others.

“Aladdin: The Musical” is based on the theatrical adaptation of the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin. This musical is enacted by a team of around 200 students from the Christian Medical College, Christian Dental College, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy and students of the Allied Health Science. This includes the cast, choir, choreography, instrumentation, props, sets, costumes, sounds and lights.

Alumni day celebrations

The College of Nursing, Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) celebrated its alumni day today. 

The ceremony was started with prayers followed by a presentation of mementos and badges to the new members. 

Prof. Ponnamma R Singh, Principal, welcomed and introduced chief guest Dr Kanwal Jit Gill. 

The chief guest went down the memory lane and remembered her golden days at the College of Nursing, CMC. Some of the eminent guests were Dr Abraham G Thomas, Director CMC, Rev Bill Virgin, Governing Board member, Edith Maggie Noel alumni of 1945 batch. 

Senior nurses Sheila Paul, Neena Wilson, Anil Edward, Margaret Dasand, Alveena Paul were awarded for their 25 years of dedicated services to the institution. Prof Seema Barnabas, President, Alumni Association laid the importance of the Alumni Association. On the occasion, Alumni News Letter was also released. 

The programme ended with a variety of entertainment. The scientific session on “Health Assessment in Nursing” was chaired by Prof Seema Barnabas.
