Srinagar, March 22

PDP president and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti kick started her party’s campaign for the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency today. She said a vote for her party would be an endorsement to transform J&Kthrough dialogue and development and getting the state out of the present crisis.

The PDP president, addressing meetings of workers from Charar-i- Sharief and Budgam constituencies, said ever since her party was launched, it had worked on a specific political and developmental agenda in which the state had remained the focus.

She said her party had been working to get the state out of the quagmire of uncertainty and reminded the workers of many path-breaking initiatives taken during the party’s rule from 2002 to 2005.

“That was the first phase of transformation in Jammu & Kashmir under PDP rule and the second phase of transformation is underway,” a party spokesman said quoting her.

Mehbooba said forming the state government in 2015 was not an easy task though there were many easy options available.

The CM said the coming elections would provide the party an opportunity to strengthen peoples’ agenda of restoration of peace with dignity coupled with development of the state. — TNS
