CM unveils museum in memory of UP ex-CM HN Bahuguna

DEHRADUN: On the occasion of 98th birth anniversary of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, inaugurated a museum, set up in his memory at his native village Bughani in Pauri Garhwal district today.

On the occasion of 98th birth anniversary of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, inaugurated a museum, set up in his memory at his native village Bughani in Pauri Garhwal district today.

Paying tributes to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, the Chief Minister said he was a visionary who could understand the problems and plight of the people of the hills and was instrumental in setting up a hill development department during his tenure as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He said there was an urgent need to carry forward the vision of Bahuguna for the development of the hill state.

The Chief Minister said there was a need to increase resources by developing tourism, horticulture, medicinal plants and tapping the water potential of the state. He further said he pleaded for tapping of water resources during the meeting of Niti Aayog held in New Delhi.

Rawat also announced several development schemes like the construction of a stadium at Khirsu and a new bus stand at Pauri town, besides water supply scheme for Bughani village. He said efforts were on to give Municipal Corporation status to Srinagar town by giving it a single entity status, Shrikot and Chauras in near future.
