Dubbing both Congress and AAP as empty vessels, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has said AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal owes an explanation to the people of the state as to why his government had an anti-Punjab stance in the Supreme Court on the SYL issue.

Badal has also dared PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh to enlist even a single achievement of his government before “misleading the people with his imaginative nine-point agenda”.

“Being a Haryanvi, Kejriwal is busy making every effort to benefit his mother state at the cost of Punjab and its people, which could not be tolerated at any cost. Kejriwal and his party are anti-Punjab,” said Badal on the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan at Kot Shamir.

On AAP leader Jarnail Singh’s candidature from Lambi, Badal said Kejriwal was free to field any of his top leaders against him. “Anyone is welcome to test the waters from the constituency. The people will dump any candidate challenging the SAD-BJP not only in Lambi, but in every segment. They will vote for the alliance for its development agenda,” he said.

Addressing public gatherings during his Sangat Darshan at Sangat Mandi, Kot Shamir and Balluana, the CM flayed the Congress and AAP for promoting politics of opportunism by “shamefully encouraging mass defections to satiate their lust for power”.
