Himachal BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti today ridiculed the Chief Minister for convening a meeting of the Cabinet in a hurry and pressurising his Cabinet colleagues to extend support to him. He stated that these tactics would not be of any avail in stopping his exit.

“The Congress could have saved itself from supporting the chief minister, who was facing corruption charges but they lost this opportunity and are seen supporting corruption”, Satti said in a statement issued here today.

Rather than putting the blame on the BJP leaders for the problems he was facing, Satti asked Virbhadra Singh to do some introspection and ponder whether it was true or not that a diary was recovered during his stint at Union Minister of Steel in which transactions worth crores of rupees were mentioned in the name of one VBS.

He said that an NGO affiliated with the Aam Admi Party (AAP) went to court against him and not the BJP. The BJP played no role in forcing him to make deal with Vakamulla and that Virbhadra Singh should have thought before showing inflated income from apple from Rs 47 lakhs to Rs 6.50 crores in revised Income tax returns.

Meanwhile, BJP state vice president Ganesh Dutt said the Congress was repeatedly giving statements that Virbhadra Singh would become Chief Minister for the seventh time but the truth is that the Congress would only get seven seats out of the total 68 in the next Assembly elections.

Taking a dig at the Congress leaders, he said that if they were so sure about the victory then they should immediately dissolve Assembly, paving the way for elections. He said that the statement of the Chief Minister that contractors were running the Public Works Department had showed his helplessness.
