CM reviews rehabilitation work at Kedarnath

Chief Minister Harish Rawat today visited Kedarnath shrine to review the ongoing reconstruction works being done amidst heavy snowfall at Kedarpuri.

He praised the ongoing reconstruction work and complimented workers, jawans, officers and employees involved in the reconstruction work.

He praised the work being done under the supervision of Col Ajay Kothiyal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarakshi, and got information about the progress being made and the difficulties being faced by the team.

He announced that labourers working at Kedarnath would get Rs 100 extra as wages. He declared that all labourers and employees would be insured by the state government.

Talking to workers, the Chief Minister said there was no pressure on them and they could work as long as they wish to due to extreme cold conditions and the state government would provide them all help.

Col Ajay Kothiyal, Principal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, who is supervising the reconstruction work, informed the Chief Minister that a helipad for bigger helicopters would be ready at Kedernath by December 26.

The Chief Minister asked the District Magistrate to send a proposal for providing Rs 5,000 for three months to all those employees and policemen deployed in the work.

He also exhorted the purohits of the shrine to invite their disciples for the winter Char Dham Yatra started by the state government.
