CM launches schemes of Rs 216 crore

Chief Minister Harish Rawat laid the foundation stones of several schemes and projects of Rs 215.54 crore here today. The projects are related to water, social welfare, child development, PWD, education, rural roads and employment generation.

The function was held at Ekkad Khurd village. Rawat, while addressing the gathering, said his government was committed to the overall development of all 13 districts with special emphasis on hill and rural segments.

He interacted with girl students. “Girls are being provided free education from Class VIII to XII under the Satat Shiksha Karyakram. Besides, skill training is also being imparted and girls from economically-weak families are being given scholarship of Rs 1,000,” he said.

Bhagwanpur MLA Mamta Rakesh, Piran Kaliyar legislator Furkan Ahmed, Jhabreda legislator Hari Das, district panchayat vice-chairperson Rao Affaq, village head Harun, ranked minister Kiran Pal Valmiki, former MLA Ambrish Kumar, women Congress leaders Anupama Rawat, Poonam Bhagat, Kiran Singh, Satpal Brahmachari, Chaudhary Rajendra Singh, District Magistrate Harbans Singh Chugh, SSP Rajeev Swarup, and CDO Sonika were present at the function.—TNS
