Srinagar, October 24

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today called on Governor NN Vohra and discussed with him the internal security situation and the measures taken to restore normalcy in the state.

“The Governor and the Chief Minister discussed the internal security situation, the steps underway to restore normalcy in the state, issues relating to the revival of the educational sector, measures required to revive economic activities and the post-Darbar move issues,” an official spokesman said.

Under the Darbar nove system, the seat of the state government will shift to Jammu, the winter capital, for six months from the next month. During summer, the seat of the government remains in Srinagar.

The Kashmir valley has been witnessing continuous shutdown for the past 108 days following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8.

As many as 85 persons, including two policemen, have been killed in violent clashes between protesters and security forces during the unrest while thousands others were injured. --- PTI
