President of the Himachal Pradesh Clerical Employees Union Tara Singh today said the state government had still not implemented the demands of the cadre put forward at a State-level Joint Consultative Committee meeting on December 29 last year under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

In a joint statement issued here, Tara Singh and district general secretary of the union Ramesh Thakur said since Himachal Pradesh followed the Punjab pay pattern, the state government had not given financial benefits to their cadre on a par with their counterparts.

The employee leaders said their counterparts in Punjab had been given the revised pay scale, including grade-wise notional pay effective from December 2011, which has been denied to them.

Charging that the bureaucracy was misleading the government on the plea that in case of Punjab, the decision of pay revision was taken by a sub-committee which was not valid in Himachal Pradesh.

The employees said the right to pay was their genuine demand and they were not begging for it. They threatened to launch an agitation if the government failed to implement the pay revision.
