City doctor nominated to medical council

LUDHIANA: Manoj Kumar Sobti, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon, Sobti Neuro and Super Specialty Hospital, has been nominated as a member to the Punjab Medical Council.

Manoj Kumar Sobti, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon, Sobti Neuro and Super Specialty Hospital, has been nominated as a member to the Punjab Medical Council. Sobti has an experience of 32 years in surgery.

Sobti had worked as the head of the Neurosurgery Department at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital here for 10 years. He said he launched a new neurosurgery technique known as Stereotactic (Burrhole) surgery in north India after receiving training from Holland and UK.

He received an award from the Punjab government in 1994 for his services and was the president of the Indian Medical Association, Punjab, for 2013. He is serving as the vice-president, president and patron of the IMA, Ludhiana.
