Amritsar, August 28

AAP leader Sucha Singh Chhotepur was removed from the post of state convener on the basis of substantial evidence. This was revealed by party observer Rahul Shukla here today.

He said the video concerning him would be made public soon. Chhotepur had not yet been removed from the membership of the party as the corruption charges against him were being probed by a two-member committee, he said.

“We have a transparent system of accepting donations. Any receipt above Rs20,000 requires PAN of donor which is also uploaded on our official website,” he said.

Shukla said it was being wrongly propagated that the Delhi team of AAP had been overshadowing the state unit. “We have been deputed to assist the local units to rope in non-political individuals of social repute to the political arena,” he said.

Party candidate from Amritsar South Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar also endorsed Chhotepur’s removal. “If anyone is caught accepting bribe, the person has to quit, that’s the party line,” he said.
