Chamba, May 29
The Chamba-Bharmour highway, which is the only lifeline for pilgrims visiting the Manimahesh shrine, is in bad shape and urgently calls for repair. A travel from Chamba to Bharmour reveals that there are deep potholes at many points on the highway.
Even the road between Katori Bangla and Dradda, which is also part of the journey of the Manimahesh devotees, is full of potholes. It will not be easy for people visiting Manimahesh to drive on this highway. With little attention being paid to repair and maintenance of the highway, it has become a risky affair to drive vehicles, especially two-wheelers, on the road. — OC
