Canal to be hot issue in rally today

Though ‘Shaheed Samman Rally’ is being organised by Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh here on Wednesday as a mark of respect to those sacrificed their lives for the nation, the SYL canal is likely to be the main issue at the rally .

“Since residents of Ahirwal had been waiting for the Supreme Court’s verdict over the Presidential reference regarding the SYL issue for a long time to get irrigation water, local BJP leaders are under pressure to raise the issue in the presence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the rally to ensure an announcement regarding completion of the SYL canal at the earliest,” said a supporter of Rao Inderjit. He maintained other burning issues like army recruitment centre in Rewari, formation of Ahirwal regiment and initiation of construction work of AIIMS like medical instituteshad now become secondary. — TNS
