Cabinet okays transfer of 293 kanals to AIIMS in Samba

JAMMU: The Cabinet today accorded sanction to the transfer of 293 kanals and 13 marlas of state land at Chak Diwan Bhim Sen and Rakh Barotian villages in Samba district to the Health and Medical Education Department for the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

The Cabinet today accorded sanction to the transfer of 293 kanals and 13 marlas of state land at Chak Diwan Bhim Sen and Rakh Barotian villages in Samba district to the Health and Medical Education Department for the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

It also approved constitution of a committee, headed by the Chief Minister, to monitor the dredging of the Jhelum. The Deputy Chief Minister, Minister for Public Health Engineering and Irrigation and Flood Control and the Minister for Education will be the members of the committee.

Transmission line upgrade

The PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited has been engaged on a nomination basis to realign and reconstruct the damaged Darba-Chandak (Poonch) single-circuit 132-KV transmission line on double-circuit towers for an approximate length of 22.5 km.

20 posts in food tribunal

Twenty posts okayed in different categories for the Food Safety Appellate Tribunal in Srinagar and Jammu. The tribunals shall facilitate proper implementation of the Food Safety and Standard Act 2006 and also hear appeal from the decisions of the adjudicating officers.

8 posts okayed in HC

Eight posts approved in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Of them, five posts are of the Bench Secretary and three posts of the Deputy Registrar.

Power sector reform

The REC Power Distribution Company Limited has been engaged as an IT consultant for one year to achieve the leftover milestones under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme-Part-I in 30 towns of the state, including Jammu and Srinagar cities.

7 Chief Engineers regularised

Seven in charge Chief Engineers, Alok Mengi, Om Kumar Chadgal, Puran Bharat Gandhi, Nayeem Ahmad, Tilak Raj Bhagat, Devi Dass Gorka and Parshotam Lal, regularised as the Chief Engineers (Civil).

Amendments to Civic Laws

Amendment approved to the J&K Civic Laws (Special Provisions) Ordinance 2017. Amendment also approved to Jammu and Kashmir Value Added Tax 2005 — Introduction of Jammu and Kashmir Value Added Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2017. Dr Samia Rashid appointed as the Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar. Alok Kumar, a 1997-batch IPS officer of the J&K cadre, has been promoted to the super-time scale (II) Inspector General of Police.

Rangreth to get police post

A police post will be set up at Rangreth in Srinagar and 29 posts will be created as concurred by the Finance Department on the proposal of the Home Department. The jurisdiction of the police post will be notified by the Home Department.
