Cabinet approves draft of Governor’s address

SHIMLA: The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, today approved the draft of Governor’s address, which will be delivered by Acharya Devvrat on the opening day of the Budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, commencing March 1.

The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, today approved the draft of Governor’s address, which will be delivered by Acharya Devvrat on the opening day of the Budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, commencing March 1.

Besides, the Cabinet also approved the supplementary estimates for the financial year 2016-17, which will be approved by the Assembly during the month-long Budget session.

The Cabinet gave the nod for starting a five-year course in Bachelor of Architecture at Rajiv Gandhi Engineering College, Nagrota Bagwan, in Kangra district. The approval was granted for the opening of an ayurveda health centre at Padgaya village in Chopa. It also approved the regularisation of staff nurses appointed on a contract basis under Rogi Kalyan Samitis in the Ayurveda Department.

Approval was accorded for filling two posts of lecturer in the Department of Kayachikitisa, Prasuti Tantra and Istri Rog in Rajiv Gandhi Government Postgraduate Ayurveda College, Paprola, on a contract basis. Similarly, nod was given to fill one post of principal on a regular basis at College of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Science, Jogindernagar.

It was also decided to open a new sub tehsil office at Pragpur in Kangra district. The Cabinet granted its approval to take over National Senior Secondary School at Katohar Khurd in Chintpurni constituency of Una district by the government from the session 2017-18. It also decided to fill eight posts of junior office assistant (IT) in the Directorate of Ayurveda on contract. Approval was accorded to upgrade the veterinary dispensary, Jakhna (Jamna), in Shillai constituency to veterinary hospital in Sirmaur district.

The Cabinet also agreed to construct a new block of the Circuit House at Dharamsala. Approval was accorded for road safety audit in road projects on the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) model. This is being done to ensure that road safety audit of all roads in terms of design, construction and operational stages is carried out by the third party to ensure a user-friendly road network.

The Cabinet also approved the replacement of Himachal Pradesh Court fees (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017, by the Himachal Pradesh Court Fees (Amendment) Bill, 2017, which is to be presented before the ensuing session of the Legislative Assembly.
