Chandigarh, December 12

Around 200 students of Classes VII to X staged the annual musical presentation of Tribune Model School, “Suvarana Jagriti”, at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, here today.

It was a refreshing experience for the audience to witness a generation weaned on a continuous diet of smart phones, tablets and cable television showcase the values of right conduct, non-violence, truth and love.

The students took them through a journey of righteous conduct through Vyadha Gita, of non-violence through teachings of Gautama Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, of eternal love through Bulleh Shah’s poetry and taught them how to blend the body, mind and soul through various yoga asanas.

The mesmerising dances and scintillating songs about animals understanding the bond of love in the presentation “Gautama Buddha”, Gandhi’s “Vaishnava Jana To” and the message of eternal love for God given by Sufi saint Bulleh Shah brought tears to the eyes of the people attending the show.

Coordinator Japinder, choreographer Jatinder and music teacher Atul orchestrated the performances with perfection, with the help of assistant directors Amandeep, Rajni, Pritinder, Asha Bhardwaj, Richa and Navkavita.

Schoolchildren Naman, Kshitiz, Mohit, Himani and Anmolpreet gave applaudable performances. The creative set design by Amanpreet and Anil along with Amandeep, a Class X student, added authenticity to the performances.

Principal Vandana Saxena congratulated the students as well as teachers for their effort and hard work. She highlighted the role of theatre in inspiring students.
