Bodies of two youths recovered from river

UTTARKASHI:The bodies of two youths, who had drowned in the Pawwar river onFriday, were recovered on Saturday evening, the police said on Sunday.

The bodies of two youths, who had drowned in the Pawwar river on Friday, were recovered on Saturday evening, the police said on Sunday.

The deceased had been identified as Surendra and Manjit, residents of Himachal Pradesh, Mori police station in charge Dipak Kumar said.

The bodies were recovered 2 km away from the spot where the clothes of the youths were found on Friday, he said.

A pick-up vehicle parked on the bank of the river and Rs 20,000 were recovered from the spot,  he added.  The bodies have been handed over to their families after a post-mortem examination. 

A case has been registered. — PTI
