The Haryana Government has decided to set up a paramedical board in the state. The draft Bill for the purpose has been made available on the website www.dmerharyana.org of the Medical Education and Research Department.

Stating this here, an official spokesman said comments and suggestions regarding the draft Bill were invited from the public and stakeholders through e-mail at dgmer.haryana@gmail.com or registered post up to February 4. He said the Haryana state paramedical board would be established for the registration of paramedical professionals, technicians and institutions imparting training to such professionals in the state and prescribing their qualifications.

The board would comprise ex-officio and nominated members. The Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary in the Medical Education and Research Department would be the ex-officio chairperson of the board. The Vice-Chancellor of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, would be the vice-chairperson. The Director General or Director, Medical Education and Research, would be the secretary, who would serve as member-secretary.

Other ex-officio members would include the Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary, Finance Department, or an officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary nominated by the Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary. — TNS
