Block AAP’s poll events: SFJ to Canada

MOGA: After blocking Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh’s political gatherings in Canada, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a Sikh rights advocacy group, today lodged a complaint with the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Canada demanding to stop AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal from addressing the Punjabi diaspora in Canada for the 2017 Assembly polls.

After blocking Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh’s political gatherings in Canada, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a Sikh rights advocacy group, today lodged a complaint with the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Canada demanding to stop AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal from addressing the Punjabi diaspora in Canada for the 2017 Assembly polls.

Talking to The Tribune, Attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal adviser of the SFJ, said that he has written a letter to the Foreign Minister of Canada Stéphane Dion stating that targeting NRIs living in Canada, canvassing for their votes, holding fundraising events and conducting public campaigns in Canada.

He said, “We have hired a civil rights lawyer to file a suit in a competent court as per the memorandum sent to the Canadian Government to halt Kejriwal’s scheduled programmes.”
