The state BJP will reach out to Muslim women to get their viewpoint on triple talaq and enquire about the problems they are facing.

The state cadre of the party has given its consent to the proposal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold parliamentary and state elections at the same time.

These decisions were taken during the two-day state BJP executive meeting, that concluded today in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

State party affairs in charge Anil Jain, state BJP president Subhash Barala and Union ministers Birender Singh, Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar were present.

“The state executive has decided to approach Muslim women on the issue of triple talaq. Our women and OBC wings will start this programme in the coming days,” Barala said.

“We will prepare a report on the issue, which will be submitted to the Union government,” stated the state BJP president.

As per party sources, the attempt was being made in view of the success in Uttar Pradesh and other states in the recently held elections.

With an eye on the 2019 Assembly elections, the state BJP decided to reach out to Muslim women over the issue. However, the BJP had been claiming that it was step under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya national work expansion programme.

On simultaneous elections, he said, “Since it is a big election reform dream of the Prime Minister, the state executive has decided to go for this in 2019 to save money.”

The state BJP president maintained that the party had been celebrating this year as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya birth centenary year.

He said sapling plantations, cleanliness drives, blood donation camps and social, political and economic discussions would be organised by the state BJP under this programme.

Other BJP wings would organise sports meets, public welfare conventions, farmers’ meets and thanksgiving for constitutional status to OBC Commission, said Vedpal, state BJP general secretary.
