Dehradun, August 30

A delegation of state Congress leaders today met SSP Dehradun and investigating officer for sting CD episode Pushpak Jyoti and handed over a letter seeking action against national BJP president Amit Shah, state BJP in charge Shyam Jaju, national BJP vice-president and Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, state BJP president Teerath Singh Rawat and journalist Ashok Pandey allegedly tarnishing the image of the state government.

In the letter, the Congress claimed that the government was working to take the state to new highs of development and was a popular government and alleged that the sting CD episode was a conspiracy aimed to tarnish the image of state government.

The letter held that a conspiracy was hatched to damage the image of the government and Chief Minister Harish Rawat and to create misconception in the minds of general public against both. They said BJP leaders had been constantly going to the media repeatedly trying to defame the state government’s image.

Congress leaders also held that despite their repeated appeals to BJP leaders to provide original CD for probe, they had failed to do so amply revealing the conspiracy angle. The letter also reminded that Shyam Jaju had a press conference on August 23, publicly admitted that the original sting CD was with the BJP. State Congress vice presidents Shankar Chand Ramola and Joth Singh Bisht, party spokesman Mathuradutt Joshi, coordinator Rajendra Shah and general secretary Navin Joshi were prominent among the Congress leaders that handed over the letter to the SSP. It is noteworthy that a sting CD that was telecast by almost all media channels had shown Chief minister Harish Rawat’s personal secretary acting promising to change the liquor policy in the state to benefit the liquor mafia.
