The BJP has planned a show of strength on May 26 at Karnal by roping in party president Amit Shah and other senior leaders.

To be organised as part of the first anniversary of the Modi Government at the Centre, the ‘Jan Kalyan Parv’ will see who’s who of the state BJP, including Central ministers from the state, at one platform. On October 26 last year, the state unit organised a mega show at Panchkula at the swearing-in ceremony of the Khattar Government in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took part.

Sources said with former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda planning a protest from Kandela (Jind) from May 31, the BJP’s show of strength at Karnal and other places was an effort to checkmate the Opposition. “Besides, efforts would be made to highlight the achievements of the central and state governments which had done pioneering work in diverse fields benefiting every section of society”, sources stated.

Party Spokesman Vir Kumar Yadav said the Chief Minister, central and state ministers, MPs and MLAs will address rallies in all 283 mandals of the state to make people aware of various achievements of the Central Government in last one year and the state government in the last six months.

Besides, three flagship schemes of the Central Government, ‘Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojna’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Jeewan Jyoti Bima Yojna’ and ‘Atal Pension Yojna’ would be launched in all districts on May 30 and 31 under the “Jankalyan Mela’ .

Along with Central Government’s achievements, the achievements of the Khattar Government would be showcased at the functions to be organized at various places, a senior functionary of the state government said.

Khattar meets Amit Shah, Anil Jain

New Delhi: Ahead of his visit to Haryana, BJP president Amit Shah on Monday asked the Haryana BJP to launch a campaign to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government during one-year of its rule and issues relating to land acquisition law in order to blunt the Opposition propaganda. The top BJP brass laid down the roadmap for the Haryana unit when Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar called on him here. The political situation in the state, including the opposition Congress' aggression led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, are understood to have figured prominently in the meeting. Khattar, who arrived here last evening, also met BJP affairs in charge in Haryana, Anil Jain. — TNS
