Ludhiana, December 23

Visitors will enjoy a smooth ride to the city with the opening of Southern Bypass. While the flyover, the underbridge and the overbridge have already been made operational, the remaining 20 per cent work will be completed by January 31, 2015, said the authorities concerned.

Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal said that Southern Bypass was being constructed at a cost of Rs 362 crore. The DC said it would prove beneficial not only to the residents but also to those passing through the city and going towards Ferozepur and Moga.

The DC said that underpass linking Blocks A and B of Aggar Nagar on Ferozepur Road was already proving to be beneficial to the residents.

“Ferozepur Road is one of the busiest roads and with the construction of the underpass, it has become easy for commuters to move from one block to the other in Aggar Nagar,” he said.
