Water cannons were used against the Congress workers protesting the alleged deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

As many as 400 workers led by MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, CLP leader Charanjit Channi, deputy leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu, DCC chief Gurpreet Gogi and other leaders gathered outside the barricaded gates of the Mini Secretariat.

The protesters wanted to give bangles to the police as the latter had failed to ensure law and order in the state.
