Dismiss Badal govt, demands capt

Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh has demanded immediate dismissal of the Badal government, saying it had been “completely exposed in the Fazilka jail incident” where a known “henchman” of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal was caught holding a “kangaroo court” on Wednesday along with 24 Akali-linked criminals. Amarinder demanded imposition of the President’s Rule to hold free and fair elections in the state.

Waraich dubs Akali Dal ‘anti-Dalit’

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused the SAD-BJP government for mounting atrocities on Dalits and shielding the culprits. In a statement, AAP state convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich said the Fazilka jail incident had exposed SAD patronage to culprits. He alleged Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had tried to protect Doda in the Bhim Tank murder case. The SAD had allegedly promoted the anti-Dalit sentiment in Punjab during its 10-year rule, he added.
