Belgian tourists visit Ayurvedic centre

DEHRADUN: A 12-member Belgium delegation today visited the Ayurvedic Centre of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, Jolly Grant, to understand Ayurvedic medical facilities and the panchkarma therapy programme.

A 12-member Belgium delegation today visited the Ayurvedic Centre of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, Jolly Grant, to understand Ayurvedic medical facilities and the panchkarma therapy programme. Prof Ravindra Kumar Mamgain delivered lectures on the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic medicines with preventive approach of Ayurveda through diet, lifestyle modifications, daily routines, seasonal routines and code of conduct.

Prof Pratibha Mamgain, while explaining about the residential panchkarma therapy programme, highlighted the importance of various Ayurvedic therapies performed during panchkarma for detoxification, rejuvenation and curative aspect of treatments. She said Ayurveda provides better solution in the forms of proper dietary management, lifestyle modification, panchkarma as bio-purification procedures, body friendly herbal preparations and various rejuvenation therapies. The holistic approach of Ayurveda, treating the patient as a complete physical, psychological and spiritual well-being, makes this life science a wonderful option in lifestyle disorders, she added.

Dr Ravindra Mamgain said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared to celebrate Dhanvantari Jayanti on October 28 as national Ayurveda day. All Ayurvedic institutions, hospitals, pharmaceuticals and Ayurvedic physicians will be organizing Dhanvantri pooja and various programmes for the positive health of people throughout the nation.
