Basant Panchami celebrated

Chandigarh: The Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, Chandigarh, exhibited a distinctive sight of colour yellow - flowers, food, attires that symbolically represented the augmentation of spring season, as everybody celebrated Basant Panchami on the college campus on Monday.

Chandigarh: The Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, Chandigarh, exhibited a distinctive sight of colour yellow - flowers, food, attires that symbolically represented the augmentation of spring season, as everybody celebrated Basant Panchami on the college campus on Monday. Nirmal Singh Dhillon, chariman, Dev Samaj Managing Committee, was the chief guest. Various competitions such as folk singing, rangoli making, mehandi, Miss Basant contest etc were organised. Kites of various hues and colours took to the sky as many enthusiastic students participated in the kite flying festival. Decorated swings were the highlight of the festival. Girls dressed in traditional attires were seen vying for Miss Basant title. 

Digital literacy training 

One-day digital literacy workshop was conducted at Home Science College as a part of Digital India Initiative of National Digital Literacy Mission under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The training was conducted with the aim of creating digitally literate students so that they can access the digital services directly without the interference of any middleman. Shariq Ali, officer in-charge of national digital literacy training in schools and colleges all over India, highlighted the importance of the training in the era of demonetisation and cashless transactions. — TNS
